What's included in a service visit?
Your engineer visit focuses on safe operation, reliability, and practical "quick wins" to keep the room running well.
🔍 Safety + Function Checks
- Full functional test of all equipment (lights, controls, interactive elements)
- Visual check of electrics, wiring, connectors, drivers/PSUs
- Mounting points/brackets/fixings inspection
- Padding & soft play wear assessment
- We designed much of this equipment, nobody knows how to fix it better than we do. Unlike general electricians, we carry specific sensory parts. We aim to fix issues on the first visit.
- Bubble tube cleaning & water replacement
📽️ AV / Projection / Control Systems
- Projector service: filter clean + lamp check + alignment
- Room control system testing (wall panel/iPad/PC)

Do you service rooms you didn't install?
Yes, in almost all cases. Send us photos and a list of what's installed and we'll confirm what we can cover. This is a key advantage over competitors who only service their own brand.
What parts are covered by the plan discounts?
Plan discounts (15% for Saturn, 50% for Jupiter) apply to standard service parts. Some major components are excluded.

Are there any optional Add-ons?
Yes, we can negotiate the plan based on your specific requirements.

What's your typical response time?
Saturn members: 21 day lead time (priority). Jupiter members: 7-10 day lead time (VIP). Pluto (pay-as-you-go): 28 day lead time, subject to availability.
What if no fault is found?
If we attend and find no fault (or the issue was misreported), a minimum call-out fee may apply. We'll always try to troubleshoot remotely via video call first to avoid unnecessary visits.
What about Scotland / offshore locations?
Mainland UK pricing is shown above. Scotland and offshore locations are quoted individually — please contact us.
Can I pay by Direct Debit?
Yes. We offer convenient monthly Direct Debit payments for Saturn and Jupiter plans — perfect for school budgets. Annual lump-sum payments are also available.
What about interactive projector systems?
Interactive projectors are included in Jupiter plans at no extra charge. For Saturn and Pluto, interactive projection servicing is available as an add-on — unlike competitors who charge £450+ surcharges.
How do I book my annual service visit?
We'll contact you to arrange a suitable week or range of dates that work for your school. Once you've secured a date, most customers request the same slot the following year — making future planning easy.
Do you provide staff training?
Yes — and it's a popular benefit. We know schools have high staff turnover, so refresher training is included with every service visit. Jupiter members also get access to free online training resources and can request an annual dedicated training session.
What are the basic T&Cs of these Subscription Plans?
- Pricing is per room, unless on Jupiter package then up to 3 rooms included. If you have multiple sensory rooms or sites, contact us for a bundled multi-room quote.
- Additional free call-outs (Jupiter): It is up to you to book these free call-outs and they will need to be for required investigation and repair work.
- Service Week: Subscription rates are based on accepting a slot during our scheduled Service Week in your county. Dedicated slots outside this period may incur travel surcharges.
- Mainland UK only: Standard pricing covers England & Wales. Scotland and offshore locations are excluded and quoted individually due to travel costs.
- Consumables (projector bulbs, batteries, fuses, water treatment) are chargeable unless your plan tier specifies otherwise.
- Misuse/neglect and cosmetic-only damage are not covered.
- Equipment beyond economical repair may require a replacement quote.
- Coverage for equipment not supplied by Mike Ayres Design is confirmed case-by-case ("best endeavours" basis).
- No fault found: If we attend and find no fault or a user-error issue, a minimum call-out fee may apply.
- Minimum term: 12-month commitment. Cancellation requires 30 days' written notice.
- Payment: Monthly via Go Cardless Direct Debit, or annual lump-sum payment. We'll send you a secure payment link to set up.
- Support hours: 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Out-of-hours support available as an add-on.
